Hot Klub

The Hot Klub was a punk rock club in Dallas, Texas, USA in the early 1980s which is considered the first club in Dallas to feature only punk and New Wave bands.. It was preceded by The D3, which occasionally hosted punk groups, and was followed by Studio D in 1981. Featuring the name spelled out in cheap K-Mart wooden letters, very little amenity and the required graffiti-covered bathroom walls, the Hot Klub was somewhat removed from the popular hotspots of that time, such as Lower Greenville or the Cedar Springs / McKinney St area. Nonetheless, it remained a popular destination for punk rock bands and their fans until its closing in 1983.

Many local punk bands played the Hot Klub stage, including The Nervebreakers, Stickmen With Rayguns, The Devices and The Telefones. National and international touring acts such as Romeo Void, Richard Hell, The Go Gos, Eurythmics, and UB40 often played there as well.
